With the initiation of the government of Nepal and leaders of the film industry, an international film city is being planned at Dangdungedanda of Bhimeshwor Municipality-9 in Dolakha district. Moreover, following a decision that was taken by the Council of Ministers. Likewise, for the launch of the project, the cabinet has already sent needful instruction letter to the Film Development Board under the Ministry of Information and Communications. 76.25 hectares of land area has been allowed for the project along with the removal of 104 trees. The department of forest and film development board has sealed an agreement on March 28, 2017. Furthermore, this is the first time that Nepal is seeing this kind of project for the film industry. At a distance of 109 kilometers East of Kathmandu, Dangdungedanda offers a picturesque panoramic view of mountain range, green hills, and Kathmandu, Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Solukhumbu, Ramechhap, and Okhaldhunga.
